ok thank you
Not sure if it matters, but I have PMS hosted on Ubuntu.
I would not think that would matter but if everyone else here is also using it or some flavor of linux, it might
I’m using ubuntu 22.04 but think it’s more likely a client side bug with the app, which is more prevalent on tablets.
Maybe due to their general lower specs compared to phones but that’s wild speculation on my part!
I’m using a Terra Master NAS, which is some variation of Linux, I’m sure.
EDIT: I only have the one main account, for the record.
I’m see it on my Galaxy Z Fold3, my wife’s Note 20, and my kid’s Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. Tab’s not exactly a powerhouse, but it’s no slouch either. And on both high end phones, my kids’ accounts refuse to show episodes, but my account shows those same episodes without issue. Don’t think it matters much about the specs of the device that’s being used, as if the device is capable of playing the videos (which mine can), then just showing the list of episodes should be beyond trivial.
@anon5074910 Are you having issues seeing the episodes listed on your main user account, or just managed accounts?
Using it on an Ubuntu 20.04 server as well…
I’m using the Windows X64 server with my Nokia 8,1 phone running android 11.
this phone is about 4 years old. When i refresh (pull down) and go back to the TVshows and select the season, sometimes i can see the episodes.
So it could maybe a timing issue.
Today even with the previous version, when i wanted to download an episode (the only episode this season so far), the episode didn’t show up.
I had to play the episode with the yellow “play next episode button”, then press back to exit it, then the episode showed up…
So it has nothing to do with the latest app version i think.
Btw, there seems to be a new app version available and a new server version, which i haven’t updated. Will do later today, see if it’s fixed.
So sad to see no developer addressing this. So it doesn’t matter if you use free and open software or paid software: the support is equally bad.
Cheers
Main account, I don’t use managed accounts.
If you’re talking about Server version 1.32.4.7164 and Client version 9.24.0.2105, I’ve been running those version for 2 days now and was experiencing the issue on them.
Interestingly, it is working just fine for me now though, with the only difference being that I’m remotely connecting to my Plex server now whereas before I was on the same network. Will double check when I get back home if it starts happening again.
Yeah i was thinking about those… Too bad they didn’t fix it…
Do you guys have “plex.direct” added to the DNS Rebind section in your router menu?
That’s the workaround for people not being able to download in recent Plex App Versions… I had to do that too…
Might be related
I use .dad for my local domains (and have blocked all .dad domains in AdGuard Home to prevent anything resolving one to a real domain). Saw that TLD existed and figured it’d be the perfect dad joke when my kids got old enough, lol. So plex.dad redirects to my Plex container, but not plex.direct. I don’t use the Download part of Plex so never noticed that having any issues, though I’ll definitely change that domain to see if it helps this issue.
When I’m connected remotely on the 2 accounts that were having issues, both accounts can load every series/season’s episodes I’ve tried. When I was at the house yesterday, those accounts only loaded episodes 1 time, then every other time it failed to load. Will try changing my DNS hostname from plex.dad to plex.direct, just to see if that makes a difference when it’s actively failing to load episodes.
I have had the same issue for quite some time now. When opening up a tv show I often don’t see the different season folders, and if i do see the season folders and open one up it’s empty. Even though i know their are episodes there.
This has so far only occured on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 but not on my phone Samsung Galaxy S22.
I run same client version on both devices (9.24.0.2150). On the server side I run version 1.32.2.7100 on TrueNAS (FreeBSD based).
I’m having this issue on my Pixel 7, my Lenovo tablet, and my Sony Android TV. Server is on Ubuntu 22.04
Kid’s account started not to load the episode lists again tonight. I tried setting the DNS name for Plex to plex.direct but that didn’t change anything.
Definitely still a problem on 9.25.0.2253-beta that was released today.
Still having this issue with current server/app.
Yeah… Topic has been opened 23 days ago and no reply from officials…
So i don’t think they care that much.
