Did a fresh install of 9.9.20, i like it a LOT....when it works.
The last part is an issue though as it freezes often. Lots of freezing after refresh rate changes (i saw there was a bug report for this but i was unclear as to whether it was meant to be fixed in 9.9.20.
Often it just freezes after button presses when navigating the UI (using CEC).
When these freezes happen it is completely frozen. No response on UI, can't access via SSH. Need to pull the power out and put back in to reboot.
This is on a 512mb Pi with a 2A switching PSU, hardwired network. This same hardware setup ran raspbmc for months on end without issue.
Is there something i can try to alleviate my frustrations?
I had problems with freezing, and also a sluggish wired LAN connection before things chugged to a halt. I fixed it by getting a new power supply.
I originally powered it using a powered USB hub. The problem wasn't the amps, but the volts. A 5V power supply will not give the Pi enough power, especially it you have other things connected to it via USB. Keep in mind that the ethernet cable is connected to the Pi internally using USB.

Autoframerate is known broken in 9.9.20 as it was in previous versions, i recommend to turn it off and wait for next release where it had been fixed :)
I turned the autoframerate off and it doesn't (always) crash at the beginning and end of videos now, but its still very unreliable.
I have nothing connected to the Pi other than ethernet cable and SD card, pretty much the minimum.
The same PSU/cable i'm using ran the same Pi with raspbmc (with an additional USB stick) for months on end without issue. So surely that means the PSU is solid?
I'm gonna grab one of the Ultra HQ PSUs from modmypi that kaares suggested anyway, when they are back in stock. Only £8 inc cable, so worth a shot to get some stable Plex action :)
Gotcha. Ok i'll hang tight. The modmypi PSUs will be back in stock in about 2 weeks so i'll just struggle on til i can try that and then see where i'm at.
