This video link will explain all. Sorry for my reactions in the video. I was so agitated over this bug in the new Plex update. I wish Plex would have a option where we choose the titles and posters (and let us lock them in too) instead of it deciding for us.
A few details might help… Exact version number of the PLEX server, also which version of Windows??? Not saying I can help fix your problem but it would be helpful information to anyone who can…
Click on a movie,
accross the top right click the three dots …
and select fix match, change the information and have it search for the correct one.
you may need to change the agent to get a good match.
FYI… When your editing the fields for the metadata in Plex it will show a field that is locked.
The lock symbol, click it to unlock it so it saves the change to that field.
Naming your file correctly would have resolved this issue from the start. But as others have mentioned using the ellipsis (…) on right hand side of the title offers “Fix Match” along with other functions.
It worked, but it didn’t move it to the top since the letter A should be the first title since it is An Hour To Kill. How or can you do this to all of the movies without going through each one?
Once you have correctly matched it, then use the sort title from the method you used in the video, and make it “An Hour to Kill”. Make sure it’s locked and your good to go.
Please explain? Do you mean in Movie Library listing or to fix Match list. If it’s the Match list then the year is your indicator. If it’s the Library Title listing use the edit function for Sort Title. If your asking about titles with Numberals they will come first unless you use the sort option in the said Title.
So by now you would know this is not a bug. My question to you would be are you no longer Pi…ed off? It’s seems your learning curve portrays a better understanding of the Plex magic. By the way you can add your own Posters.
Not pissed off now. But I do not like that I had to update my Plex Server to this new one. I am so used to the way and liked the way the older Plex Server looked. I do not like change at all. I wish they didn’t change the one on Roku either. The back ground is a little bright for my eyes and I have to squint to look at it. I prefer the way the older one was layed out too.
