Hello,
I have a problem with my Plex server, well, more specifically, the users of my Plex server have problem.
Their playback is buffering a lot lately. Before the last 2-3 updates, I had no problem with my users buffering. They are direct playing the videos, but they buffer a lot and it’s annoying to them. I had complains from at least two users, one is playing videos and one is watching Live TV. The one playing videos tried to play the ones he had no problems with in the past but they still buffer.
My internet didn’t change, I tested it multiple times and it is still around 80/80Mbit, so that shouldn’t be an issue. The download speed of my users is 100Mbit and 30Mbit, they both are playing videos that are not that high bitrate (100Mbit user is playing 11Mbps, 30Mbit user is playing 3Mbps).
As I said, they didn’t have any issue before I updated to the last two versions of the Plex server.
Any idea what could cause this? Anyone else having the same issues recently?
What details about those streams do you see on your server dashboard (Now Playing)?
I’m particularly interested if the stream is considered remote or indirect – and if/what tracks are being transcoded.
Same here and I get an error in the top right corner of player that says my connection to the server is not fast enough to play the media. Nothing has changed with my internet & the speed is exactly as it has been. The problem seems to be restricted to playback on the Plex app on the Firestick. When I playback the exact same file on the Plex app on my Samsung TV, there is no issue with buffering.
This is the speedtest result for the red user (the live TV user with 3Mbps setting). She tried to change it to 2Mbps and it still is buffering, she says at least 4 times a minute, and it’s annoying to watch TV like that for her. (no wonder)
