Yes should be interesting. I will definitely pick one up. I don’t really care about an App Store but what I do care about is being able to use voice commands for searching apps. That for me will be a welcome a feature, something I really enjoy and use quite often on my Nexus Player.
I would think if the app Store were to allow an official PLEX app we might find additional improvements / modifications available in the PMS. Not to mention potentially better connections and possibly 801.ac ?
I hope App Store will be included for 3rd gen too ..

Apple undoubtedly is aware of the Plex app being used by its competition i.e. Amazon's FireTV and the Roku. While it's not impossible for Apple to go its own way, as we all have witnessed, IMO if there is going to be an app store for the aTv then Plex will likely find its way in there. JMTC ;)

A Plex app on a new ATV would really make a dent on the appeal of other players unless one is tied to specific libraries not accessible from an ATV.
