A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server

Hi, I was hoping someone can help me. My Plex Server on my NAS has just gone down. I’ve tried reinstalling the server and the following error message is returned ’ A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.’

I’ve been advised to approach the forum with the error logs, which I’ve downloaded.

Can anyone help?

Try the following:

  1. Download the latest Plex package for your NAS from Plex Downloads
  2. Uninstall Plex from the NAS
  3. Make sure you select the first option Uninstall Only! (I am assuming you have DSM 7)
  4. Close Plex/Web if you have it open
  5. Reboot the NAS when the uninstall has completed
  6. After reboot, re-install Plex using the package you just downloaded and wait until Plex is ready to be opened (The NAS CPU usage normally drops to around idle at that point)
  7. Open Plex/Web by typing http://NAS_IP_Address:32400 into your browser
  8. Go to Plex Settings > Server > General and make sure your server is Claimed.

If you continue to have issues with Plex, then grab the Plex logs. Right click on
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs in File Station and select Compress to logs.zip, then download and attach that .zip file to your post.
