A question about subtitles | Una duda sobre subtítulos

I have a problem that I suppose is simple but I can’t find the solution.

I want content that has forced subtitles to be enabled by default when played, but NOT to enable narration subtitles if the content does not have forced subtitles included.

Example. If a video has subtitles and forced subtitles, it shows the forced ones (which is what I want). But if another video does not have forced subtitles but does have normal ones, the subtitles of the entire dialogue are displayed.

And it doesn’t matter if in the user settings I set ONLY FORCED SUBTITLES, if they don’t exist but there are others, it loads the others and I have to manually go to the settings of that video to remove them.

How should it be configured?

Thank you.

Gracias.

Can you share the actual account language preferences for audio/subtitles?

This my subtitles configuration.

What I need is for content in Spanish (because I am Spanish) to show forced subtitles in Spanish to be able to read what the forced subtitles are typically used for: translating the text of an image that appears on the screen or when a person speaks for a moment in another language and it comes out subtitled.

What I don’t want is to see all the text of people speaking Spanish when I understand it perfectly as it is my language but for it to be shown because plan A is the forced ones if it exists and plan B is the “normal” ones if the first one does not exist.

I want (to put it briefly) plan A and if it doesn’t exist in the file, then nothing. I don’t want a plan B

I’ve been fighting with this for days.

I still know how to manually change the subtitles, but I share things with my parents and they don’t clarify. And there are files in which the typical poster or whatever appears in another language and with the forced ones its momentary translation appears below. But I know that if something does not have those subtitles, you will see other content with all the subtitles for the entire chapter and they are not clarified to remove them by hand.

I hope I have explained myself.

Thank you.

You need to change the subtitle mode from “always enabled” to “shown with foreign audio”.

But this is only half the way.
You actually need to have those forced subtitles with (or inside) your files, properly tagged as “forced”.
Plex cannot extract only the “forced” lines out of a stream of regular (“full”) subtitles.
It is also pretty rare to actually find forced subtitles on opensubtitles.org, so don’t expect them to be available.

And this automatic selection will only work on videos where you did not previously select a different subtitle manually.

Okay, that’s what I want.

If the file has forced subtitles (because you have to translate something on the screen or a phrase that is done in another language, well) and if it does not exist in the forced file, nothing happens, don’t show anything and that’s it.

It seems that that option in 2 or 3 that I have tried works by setting the option to show with foreign audio.

Where it was forced, it shows them at the necessary moments and where they do not exist, it does not show anything instead of showing the text of all the dialogues (which I do not want).

Thank you!
