I’ve added a show to my library but plex will not find it when I’ve ran a scan library files first time I’ve encountered this issue the show name is correct the series are correct aswell any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Please provide the full path to the file to include the full file name. Also check your permissions on the file and path assuring the plex agent has full access
I drop it into the TV shows Library like every other show I’ve ripped off BR named it with IMDb show title & number & name but for some reason Bottom with Rik mayal won’t be detected I’ve also ripped the young ones exactly the same way & named them the same dropped them into the exact same library & it shows up straight away it’s the very first time I’ve had a issue with it not finding a show when ripped & scanned 
Was asking for you to provide a real example of that. What show is it? Often unsupported naming works some times but will eventually fail.
There could be particlar issues with a the real title of a show like there used to be a show called “Extras” which we had to put special code in so it was not ignored ( we use to not support extras). There was a show that had numbers in the title that was getting confused with the episode numbers.
If you don’t tell us real details of what you are trying to add then we can’t help or identify a bug
Bottom season 1 & season 2 both named correctly off IMDB also shown on IMDB so metadata should reflect the show, sorry I’m fairly new to the help community but have been a plex pass holder for a few years never known a issue like this as every other show I’ve ripped from BR named & seasoned work straight away like the young ones season 1 & 2 as scored both from a charity shop earlier €4 for both the young ones & Bottom
Plex uses TVDB & TMDB, not IMDB, for TV show organization.
Please provide a directory listing, screenshot, etc showing how you have the show named and organized.
Example using Synology File Station:
Using a Synology DS918+ plex build number 1.62.2.3451-fb8ac0ae bottom is located in plex folder library Tv folder just looked on tvdb database & it’s also listed on there so can’t understand

Not sure if this is what you want every episode I have dropped in works without fail except from this 1 show 3 seasons as you can see tried separate folders & even adding the year
That will not work.
You must follow Plex naming and organization guidelines.
See Plex Documentation → Your Media → Naming & Organizing Your TV Show Files.
Also see the example (Archer) provided in my earlier post.
After you rename and reorganize the files, you may need to Plex Dance the show to have it correctly recognized.
Example:
/TV <-- folder added to tv show library
.../Bottom (1991) <-- Show name (intro year)
....../Season 01 <-- "Season" in English, two digits for season number
........./Bottom (1991) s01e01.ext <-- sXXeYY mandatory, ext = mkv/mp4/etc.
All sorted thanks all renamed them once again name of series & year added , series number , episode number & name of show & they’ve all shown up , would anyone know of a automated way of ripping & naming episodes series & names as gotten friendly with a awful lot of charity shops whom are keeping many blue rays for me to rip & then they can go in my big yellow storage. you’ve all been extremely helpful & sorry about my newish comments & replies

If you want to save yourself a lot of time I would recommend using Download - tinyMediaManager and use:
Episode format:
${showTitle} - S${seasonNr2}E${episodeNr2} - ${title}
Folder format:
${showTitle} (${showYear}) {tvdb-${tvShow.ids.tvdb}}/Season ${seasonNr2}
as the new name format.
