I have many issues with Plex sleeping my mac when i am playing music or downloading via other programs. Plex seems to ignore everything else thats running and sleeps when only it has been idle for the set time.
It would be great if Plex could use the OS energy saver settings and not its own.
There is an “official” (five year-old, poorly outlined) feature request for sleep/Wake on LAN. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/48706/wol/p1
You can **like the original post **to vote for it.
Cheers

Plex is not responsible for your machine going to sleep. That is a function of your computer/OS and has nothing to do with Plex.Look for and change the sleep settings on your particular machine.
With the Plex running, kindly run the following command from elevated cmd:
Plex prevents system sleep.
Okay. Here is the result that you would have had if you had run that one elevated command on a Windows system running Plex.
If these requests are disabled with powercfg requestsoverride (see how to use that here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powercfg), the system can then sleep according to power settings, provided nothing else is standing in the way. The problem is that the settings then ignore any media being played from the server and sleeps the computer anyway.
Settings - Server - General - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep”
If you untick that box, Plex will no longer tell Windows to stay awake.
