Ability to remote control what is playing on connected devices via the plex media server

Is it possible from the Plex Media server to access and push what plays on connected devices that are logged into the account. Not finding anything as the devices connected are in a huge warehouse and video stops daily so I have to physically walk to each device with a remote and select plex and the video again. Would be easier to do from the server.

There is https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/features/casting-flinging-remote-control/

But for your use case in general, I think you are better off investigating “digital signage” solutions. Plex is not ideal for this kind of use.

Ok its actual the live nbc news that we play. do I need a plexpass subscription for the cast to see the devices as I have one connected but no way to select but I connect to my personal account with the pass and I can connect to it.

No, Plex Pass has no influence on casting.

Sorry, I am unclear on what you are describing.

I have the media server installed on a server and then a firestick in 2 speerate tvs. Both logged into the plex account. I then play the live tv bc news option that is part of your app. But it disconnects daily and i have to go to each tv and turn it back on. So was going to see if I cast if it will allow me to control them from the media server. But it does not let me select or see the devices under Cast…

On my Personal setup I go to same area and see my Shield and connect with no issues.

Only main difference is one has plex pass and the other does not.

Are those FireTVs in the same local network as the server?
How old are these? FTVs are quite often from the bottom-end of hardware capability (and Android software versions), so they don’t behave as well as a high-end device (Shield) – even though both are based on Android.
