I heared that is the maximum number for users in plex is 100 is that right? And if it right can i get more than 100? Or if I have the pass I can go more than 100 can some one explain it all for me?
I think the limit is 100 even with a Plex Pass
Without a Plex Pass you don’t have any option to use hardware transcoding
If you get 3 people trying to stream a file that needs transcoding your server is going to be useless to the other 97 people anyway, including you
The other thing to note is that Plex is meant for PERSONAL use only. Plex expects Admins to know all 99 of these individuals as family and or friends in relation to you.
Any usage of Plex and its apps for commercial purposes, such as tell sell a service to others is SEVERELY prohibited and result in account closures. That is why the limit is 99 users. There is no way to go around it.
Plex has lawyers to suggest what is necessary to keep accounts in check and within a reasonable, reputable standard for them. I can’t fault them for this policy.
Even when I have a powerful Nas? Nothing can handle it?
Yea yea off I want to made it not to sell it I want to share our library with the all members of my family acutely I have a big library and I want to let the all my family have it and friends off.
No
Play something on your server and then adjust the quality down so the file transcodes. You can see this in your dashboard
Then go look at how much CPU your NAS is using
I have some friends that share their library with more than 3
I’m speaking of transcoding.
You can share with more people if they are able to direct play things or you have a Plex Pass and are able to use hardware transcoding.
There’s no way you’re going to stream to that many people remotely without some things being transcoded
Using the CPU for that is fine as long as you plan on keeping a fire extinguisher next to your NAS for when it catches on fire
