Accessing trailers - Trailers is unavailable...

Hi All,

Here is a proper post for my issue, sorry about earlier.

  • ATV 3 -  5.2.1(6025)  - OS Build Version: 6.1.3 (10B329a)

  • The DNS server set on the ATV: 192.168.0.13 (Currently trying on PC) Also tried on MAC: 192.168.0.11

  • Windows 7 and MAC 10.8.4

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.0.13 (PC)  192.168.0.11(MAC)

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: PC is 0.9.7.28f80f4a2    - MAC is 0.9.7.28.33-f80a4a2

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.0.13 (PC)  192.168.0.11(MAC)

  • Where your media is stored (e.g. internal drive): Local HDD on both MAC and PC

  • The PlexConnect version number. Downloaded yesterday, folder date (15/6/2013) from the link supplied in Wiki.

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file: http://pastebin.com/cRuc8bEB

  • Log File: http://pastebin.com/qA2BhUWg

  • detailed description of the issue:  Trailers is unavailable. Please try again later. message appears when trying to access Trailers. It looks like the ATV does not even try to access the DNS as there is no action in the CMD/Log file when i do so. As mentioned above I have tried on MAC and PC, re-installing PlexServer, re-downloading PlexConnect, default settings, tryed changing the IP's etc. No luck. I have just purchased this ATV this week.
    Disable the firewall etc.

  • Only thing i havent tried is Ethernet, which i will do now but i dont see why this would make a difference?

Let me know if you have further ideas anyone :) Thanks..

Are your PC and Mac firewalls allowing incoming DNS connections?

I tried disabling the firewall on PC.. But if you look at the Log File attached, i have tried setting DNS on my MAC to the PC's IP address, then navigating to apple.trailers.com... and got action in the CMD/Log File, but when nothing when i run open Trailers in ATV, doesnt this mean it's not even trying to connect to anything? Could be wrong, i will try find out if i have a firewall on the mac (pretty new to Macs)

sounds like you haven't change the ATV DNS to point at your PC then, everything PlexConnect wise looks fine.

Thats what i thought, but i've checked 20 times... thats why i tried PC and MAC coz its different IP's

**Just tested with Ethernet also.. no luck

Just tried disabling the firewall on the MAC as well, still nothing.

Can you take a screenshot of the network configuration on the ATV please (probably best to disable wireless and use ethernet setup to simplify things)?
