  • detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):

       When I go to trailers in PlexConnect terminal nothing changes on ATV it loads and after that it gives me the message "Trailers is          unavailable. Try again later"

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file

      http://pastebin.com/G5z2TdK0

What happens if you delete settings.cfg and try running it again.

You have changed settings you do not need to, try it with the defaults.

First of all thanks for your help, but again when I go to trailers it takes a while and then the message "trailers is not available..." appears on the screen

Please provide an updated log and contents of your settings.cfg

http://pastebin.com/mtXnfba2 -- Here is an updated log file

and this is settings.cfg:

[PlexConnect]
port_pms = 32400
enable_plexgdm = True
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0
loglevel = Normal
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_pms = 192.168.178.10
port_webserver = 80

I don't have an internet connection on my ATV either, it's like it don't send a dns request to the media server. Everytime i restart my ATV i have to set dns settings back to automatic even when PlexConnect and Plex Media Server are running

Are you running a firewall?

i get the same response when I try to access some of my channels.  some work and some don't.  it is like the TV needs to have a plug-in to run certain channels.

Yes I'm running a firewall, but i turned it off and get the same respsonse "Trailers is not available".

Try setting an inbound exception for python.exe.

Sometimes firewalls are a bit loath to really turn themselves off properly.

Please do not hijack someone else's thread unless you have the same issue (you actually only have the same generic symptoms and have provided no information requested in the sticky).
Also read the FAQ before you post and you would find an answer to your problem.

I already made an inbound exception for python.exe in my firewall settings

I am so willing to be wrong, but shouldn't the ip_pms = 192.168.0.105?

I was looking at that myself?

This is the default fallback address if PMS auto discovery does not work.
It is working in this case.

To the op:
Do you have another device you could try running PlexConnect on?

Yes, I installed PMS on the computer of my sister and it worked after I deleted Bonjour from her computer, because it blocked the port 49152, but why does it work on her computer and not on mine??

That port issue should be getting fixed soon.

I am not sure why but before we are sure it is definitely something about your windows install can you make the following changes to your settings.cfg and retry PlexConnect:

ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8 <- change this to your ISP's DNS server (you may have to Google it)
loglevel = High
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_pms = 192.168.0.105

If it still does not work post a new log as there should be more detailed information with the log level set to 'High'.

I don't know why, but it works. I wanted to try it again before I change any setting and it worked.

Cool, i was starting to run out of options :P

Thanks for the clarification f00b4r, and for not being hard on my guess. Very cool of you man.

Wait, my guess worked!? Woohoo!!!!
