I have verizon fios and rend a cable card on an HD Homerun Prime device. I can access virtually every channel through the HD Homerun app, which is great, but it should also work with Plex (at least as far as I understand). So, when I go to plex, I can find my HD Homerun Prime, I can see all the channels when I am in the setup screen, however, when I attempt to bring the channels into the PLEX system, it only brings in like 4 channels.
Any ideas or recommendations?
Are they 4 OTA channels? Maybe everything else is encrypted?
Is there a way to tell whether they are encrypted?
I imagined common channels to be encrypted would be like National Geographic and Fox. But ALL channels except local I can see in the setup screen in Plex, but NOT able to pull them in.
If you use the web interface to the HDHomeRun (https://my.hdhomerun.com) what does the channel list look like? (I can’t recall but that might indicate which channels are encrypted)

So this is after putting in your zip code and/or selecting a cable provider?
And this is the point where you only see four channels?
I actually do not even need to put anything in, I just run a scan, and it pulls in all of the channels.
Then I go to plex, add the HD Homerun as a device, it finds my channels, asks me to select the channels (which I select all - 391 channels), but it only pulls in a few. I actually have been able to pull in 27 channels of the 391.
On the far right on that first screenshot you will sometimes see the word “protected”. Those are the channels that you cannot use with Plex.
For the rest of the channels that do not indicate protected, you tick the checkbox on the left and then Plex will use those channels.
It also looks like you haven’t selected the correct guide, because those drop downs next to the unprotected channels should have the corresponding channel name. Can you manually click on the drop-down’s and select the correct channel?
I just deleted the HD Homerun from Plex and re-added it - same issue. I know it isn’t because the channels are protected bc the channels that are protected directly say “protected” next to the channel.

So I try to, but for example, I have CNN, but I do not see the corresponding option for CNN in the drop down.
How can I change the guide?

Its working, but now I cannot access the live tv from my phone
I think what originally happened was that I created the channel guide based off my OTA aentenna, and then added the cabel card. Now, deleting everything, it allowed me to start it from scratch, and get all the cable channels instead.
