I currently use a ceton with a cable card (from cable service) and windows home media center and extenders to watch live tv across my house. I was wondering if I could use Plex to make a similar setup or if I will be prevented till they allow encrypted channels. My cable provider is metro cast.
I know I will have to use the hdhomerun prime was wondering if I could put cable card in that and use Plex
I have that setup in my plex. I have Spectrum TWC, the only thing I don’t like is I can’t stream DRM channels. Other channels do work but not the good ones form me.

What ones are drm channels for you? Is it just HBO ect
Fox southwest sports, tbs, tnt. Basically I notice that if a station has their own app then they tell the local ISP not to put their services in the ISP apps or other media.
I doubt you will ever see DRM supported by plex.
They would need to provide protected paths for every device in the chain.
