HDHomeRun and PLEX and DRM Contennt

So, I have Plex Lifetime pass, I got an HDHomerun Prime. And I have optimum and a validated cable card. My HomeRun will see and view DRM Protected channels that I pay for, but Plex will not. And since I have Plex on the roku on my tv’s and not the HDHome run app (which is primarily only for computers / laptops, etc) I have a problem. Ie I cant watch the channels I pay for since Plex will not bring them in as DRM protected. Anyone have anything helpful that I can do here? The whole idea of Plex / Cablecard Tuner for me was to ditch having to rent 6 boxes from Optimum and also stop having to pay optimum a monthly DVR fee.

The fire stick allows for the hd app to be installed. I was running the Roku, loved it but i wired my house for better service to the tv’s. I decided to use the firestick with the go green ethernet adaptor.
Everything works great and I use the hd app to see my channels.

I bought the HDHomerun also like two years ago, with the same idea in mind. Ditch the cableboxes and use Plex or whatever. but the DRM content was a no go. I also have Optimum. Have you found a solution yet?

I don’t think there is any expected support from plex for drm channels.

I believe the hdhomerun app can watch drm channels due to encryption between your hdhomerun box and the hdhomerun app.

plex doesn’t have that encrypted connection.

unfortunately no. am actually contemplating switching back to fios as they don’t protect nearly as many channels, however they are much more expensive. the whole “experiment” for me has not worked out nearly as well as I wanted it to.
