Accidentally created second account using same email address (Thanks Mom)

My mom lives about four hours away and after the data breech I was trying to walk her through logging back in to my server so she could access her managed user account. She got “logged in” but she said all she was seeing was the free stuff. I got a “WELCOME TO PLEX” email shortly after that. I finally got over to her house today and she seems to have somehow created a new account using the same email address. The address has a period in it so I’m wondering if that may have something to do with it. I want to delete that second account but I’m not sure where to even begin and the last thing I want to do is potentially delete my actual account. If anybody has any helpful info or direction for me, I’d greatly appreciate it.
