Hi, I need to change my email on my account. When i tried to use my second email account it told me that account is already in use?
Im assuming I have an old plex account registered to martinscully@hotmail.com
can this account be removed/deleted from that email so i can change my existing plex server and its current email over to martinscully@hotmail.com?
You will have to find the login data for that old account.
Log in, then delete it.
Wait 1 month.
Then you can use the email again with your current account.
reason im asking is i am leaving my isp, and the currnet email used for my plex is this email for this isp. Im assuming i lose the email now im leaving them, so will that mean i cannot use that email still to log into my plex server?
Strictly speaking, you only need to use the email if you want Plex to send you email. Like a “forgotten password” email, for instance.
But of course it’s a good idea to change the associated email address on your account, if you are about to lose the ability to receive email on that account.
You still want to change the email address to a valid account. Otherwise someone else with that provider (who happened to recreate your email address for himself) could request a “forgotten password” email and take over your account, including your Plex Pass.
And an email warning you of a change won’t reach you, because you won’t be receiving any emails…
