My Plex Premium account got hacked someone updated the email and changed the password
when I login it created the new account.
is there any way to fix it ?
I doubt there is anything you can do from your server. I’d contact Plex.
Start here.
You should receive an e-mail at the original address with instructions on how to revert the change.
If that did not happen, then contact the Plex Billing department. Use the link in @napolij’s post.
EDIT: Also, stop Plex Media Server until things are fixed. The person who has control could potentially delete your media files.
Thanks
Thank You @napolij
No problem, hopefully you can get this resolved without too much trouble. Good Luck!
As a addition to @FordGuy61:
Plex doesn’t need R/W permissions for work properly. Read-only permissions are sufficient.
This way even if someone would be able to get “Plex admin” permissions he’s still unable to remove files over the GUI.
I do the files management over the File Station (Synology NAS) or via SMB on my MacBook by the Finder app.
Hope this helps.
