Change your Plex account with the password that you have (after Plex is back up) and as far as the Google connected account is concerned, check my previous post below:
yes…not cool… ![]()
I have reseted my password.
Now I have no data access to my local NAS.
1/ is that related to actual Plex unavailablity ?
2/ Am I supposed to reinstall ? (if yes no access to plex urls to download last version)
I reset my password online then went into PMS, restarted it, logged in with the new password and reclaimed the server.
I can confirm this works on Synology too! So Windows and Synology, try restarting Plex Media Server and then sign in. The claim option appeared after that without having to uninstall\reinstall on Synology.
Edit: I had to launch plex web directly from the Package Center using the Open button below, my bookmarked link in my browser didn’t work (probably because it is https)
Resetting your password placed your server in an unclaimed state.
You do not need to reinstall, just re-claim.
From a system on the same network as the NAS, point an incognito browser window at the IP address: http://<nas_ip_address>:32400/web
Thanks. I have done what you said.
But it immediately loads after the 2 authentication factors.
Nothing ask to re-claim
How many Plex users are there?
With 13 million monthly active users and counting, Plex is adding deep links to other streaming services.
There is a large load on the Plex servers right now.
Many people are having problems claiming their server.
Suggest you wait a few hours and try again.
Anyone using UnRAID having problems getting claim to work?
Reset password fine. Went to claim link and copied key. Pasted in to docker config and restarted. Pointed browser at local web and logged in but no option to claim.
Tried multiple times. Different browsers etc. No dice.
I restarted my unRaid docker and then accessed it through the direct web console from the docker submenu. From there I was able to login to my unRaid Plex server (still via the local console) and claim my server.
Thanks @stix, but that didn’t work for me. Anything else I can try?
UPDATE: I’m in now and I’m able to see my media. Thanks for the help.
Lol your site is down and you can’t reset your password.
Thanks. By “direct web console” I assume that’s a web browser session from the context menu link ? The only difference I have is that I’ve only got an iPad as I’m away and vpn access in, but that might not be 100% the same as being local.
I even tried installing a docker Firefox client, but still no joy.
So with the downtime this was a bit more bumpy than expected. However for the Synology I uninstalled (Sign out and unclaim server) Plex and re-installed using the claim option, which seems to have worked. However when visiting https://app.plex.tv/ I am still seeing The server "SERVERNAME" is unreachable. Make sure it's running, double check your network, and try again.
Thought the re-install and using claim option would resolve that. But maybe something else is wrong? Just not sure what or how to further debug this.
EDIT: Maybe some timeout trouble with the claim. I repeated above steps a second time and this time the server is back.
When I reset my password I got access to a completely different account. I am not BigValT. I was able to reset whoever’s PIN that is and access their account.
This is more serious than has been said for sure.
@stix @FordGuy61
Great thks its ok for me with my librairies !!

Try accessing the server directly, via its IP address: http://nas_ip_address:32400/web.
Plex’s systems are under heavy load right now. Many people are having trouble logging into their account and/or claiming servers. Looks like plex.tv is back up, but it was down for quite some time earlier today.
Suggest you wait awhile for things to stabilize, then try accessing via app.plex.tv.
Correct, I opened a web console via the docker context menu. The webpage that opened did reflect my local server address. I have never tried logging in remotely via VPN, so I cannot comment on how that would work.
However, if your VPN login allows you to use your local server ip address, then this “should” work, provided everything is functioning correctly on Plex’s servers.
if i have 2fa aut (before the breach) i assume i’m safe and no need to change password?
So all they essentially got for my PW is ahg8093hngeh89[h… yet I’m forced to change it??
