I used “uninstall only” (first option) and it worked fine for me.
Here’s what I see on my DS918.
Basically, choose one of the not red options. Red is bad.
ok @FordGuy61 @stix
I will try this option.
Before I will remove my Synology from authorized devices

and I will follow the others steps below
[quote=“FordGuy61, post: 133, subject: 805727”]
- Uninstall Plex Media Server using “Sign Out and Cancel Claim” or “Uninstall Only” option.
- Perform manual installation in Synology Package Center (do not install beta version).
- Select “Plex Claim Token” option when reinstalling.
- Click “Get Plex Claim Token”.
- The browser tab will open and display a token string “claim-xxxxxxx”
- “COPY” the string
- Return to the installation window
- PASTE the
claim-xxxxxinto the small form window. - Click NEXT until it starts installing.
*Installation will require an additional 15-20 seconds for the installer to communicate with Plex.tv and obtain new credentials for your server. After receiving the credentials, it automatically updates your “Preferences.xml” so that the server is connected to your account again. - The installer will confirm the success or failure of the connection. Success will include your Plex account username in the message
- Open a private browsing window.
- Log in http://LAN.IP.of.Syno:32400/web
- Confirm connection
- Confirm “I have it”
- Skip the wizard if presented
- Arrival at the dashboard.

Can you see a screen of the step where you have the “Plex Claim Token” option plz ?
there is a dedicated place to discuss synology and NAS installs (and problems).
please go there to troubleshoot. This is about the (alledged) data breach.
respectfully,
a user who just wants to know what happened, not witness people’s rants and incompetence
Hey,
I changed my password and added 2 step verification this morning after the email that was sent out. Now Plex can’t see my server and I just reinstalled Plex on my NAS to see if that would make any difference. But it still can’t see my server.
Can someone please explain how to fix this?
Thanks
@mrevenflow86 What’s your NAS?
I see the message that the plex.tv site has crashed, would it be better for me to wait before doing the procedure or it will have no effect?
@Skeltondark Yep, you’ll need to claim your code on plex.tv…
PW reset site is down (!Internal Error 500" or some missleading cloudflare error codes). May be caused by massive pw reset requests.
ok I’ll wait… ![]()
Hi @stix
I’ve got a Synology NAS, running on the latest DSM 7.
status.plex.tv indicates the Authentication server is still active.
You can go ahead and proceed with the installation.
Worse case is that you cannot obtain a claim token. If that happens, then cancel the install and wait until the system is back online.
It appears during the installation process:

Follow these steps then:

Rats. You’ll have to wait until Plex gets their servers back online.
