Activate remote access isn't working anymore (NAT: UPnP, error mapping port)

Hi folks,

since the update to the current server version I have a problem with the remote access. Changed nothing than installing the current version (1.4.3.3433)

There is an error message in the log concerning “error mapping port”. Buy I really don’t know how to solve.
I also tried it by manual port forwarding, with an port which was definitively never used. No error message in the log, but also no working remote access. Goes for part of a second to GREEN, then RED again.

Any ideas.
Thx
Alex

Hi alizi,
I’m answering to your question in my thread:

I’m using a manual port and the latest version is installed.
Are you running Plex on a vm? Did anything change ? I’m a little confused that it says it has no gateway.
Mar 08, 2017 10:24:41.600 [33740] VERBOSE - NetworkInterface: ignoring adapter ‘VirtualBox Host-Only Network’ (fe80::7cc7:64:b938:b9d7%14,192.168.56.1) because it has no gateway

If the VirtualBox adapter is a NAT adapter, this adds the second layer of NAT (modem/router is the first). This stops PMS every time.

To remedy, change to a bridged adapter type. Assign it a static IP on your LAN. It will appear as another host and PMS will be able to connect out.

On my Windows Home Server 2011 there is VirtualBox installed. That’s all. The VM is only for web access. Plex is running directly on the WHS2011.

I think this topic can then be closed. thx.
