I have a custom metadata agent that provides actor photos and sometimes I upload a photo where the headshot isn’t aligned correctly and want to upload a new one. I do so on my end and verify that the new image is uploaded by looking at the XML of the video and going to that actor’s image. However, when I refresh the metadata of the movie it doesn’t refresh the actor photo. It caches it no matter what I do on my end. Is there anyway to fix this?
If you are using a custom agent, then it’s up to that agent to refresh the images. Check with the author of that agent to see if they’ve put in a feature to refresh the data. If this was a Plex agent, I would say to delete the agent cache. Not sure if that will work in this case.
I’m actually using this agent, https://github.com/ajtatum/AvalonRestAgent.bundle, which I forked and made some modifications to. When I review the XML of the movie, I can see that the actor is pointing to the URL of the image and the image has been updated, but I suppose there’s another step to tell Plex to recheck the URL? If so, is there another agent or an example you can provide so I can make the agent?
