Actor Thumbs Not Showing Up

Hi Everyone,

I’m completely at a loss and have been trying to remediate the issue for a while. I use Ember Media Manager (EMM) to download local media assets to my movie folders. I want to pull absolutely everything from local assets and not have Plex go online to get anything. In Plex, I’ve added the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter agent with the understanding that this is how all the data gets extracted from the .nfo files I’m scraping from EMM.

This used to all work fine. For probably the past year or so, the actor thumbs either won’t show at all or it will only show a few of them, when all of them exist in the “.actors” folder in each movie folder. It doesn’t seem like file or image size matters. Further, when I update metadata in Plex, each time it will add another trailer instance, which is just annoying more than anything.

I’ve never completely understood how agents work even after reading all of the documentation I’ve found. Currently, I have Personal Media, Movie Database, Plex Legacy, Plex and XBMCnfoMoviesImporter listed as agents. Underneath each, I move Local Media and XBMCnfoMoviesImporter to the top. Inside of XBMCnfoMoviesImporter, there is a setting for Actor Thumb location with options of either link, local, or global.

I would really appreciate any and all help. I know I’m just settings away from fixing this and it’s been such a pain for so long. I know this is a specific ask but really appreciate the help. I can provide any other relevant info needed, of course.

Thank you!

I’m bumping this as I know this is a topic that would help others as well. I’m not a first time user and understand the potential complexity with a response.

Asking this another way, is XBMCnfoMoviesImporter now obsolete? Is there a way to get .nfo metadata to populate without using it? Eliminating that agent may make the issue easier to diagnose. Thanks again.
