Actors search on two different servers

Server Version#: on both servers are version 1.32.7.7621
Player Version#: Android TV, Browser on TV, Plex for Windwos, Android Phones…

Hey,

I need some advice because I’ve been doing this for a month and I can’t figure it out. I have a Plex server with version 1.32.7.7621. It’s been live for a few years, started out still on the 32 bit version, for the last year and a half or so it’s been on the 64 bit version of the software. My problem lies in clicking on the actors in the series section. For example, I have chosen the actress Rosario Dawson for my purpose.

Clicking on her on this server, I get the following link in the URL:

https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/media/verylognhashkey(i deleted)/com.plexapp.plugins.library?source=2&key=%2Flibrary%2Fsections%2F2%2Fall%3Factor%3D55164&pageType=list

It will only show me the other serials on the serials on my server where it plays and if I have them. I figured maybe the metadata agent is set up wrong. I checked the Agent settings again - it’s set to:

Plex TV Series Scanner
Agent Plex Series
The Movie Database Episode Order

I had all the metadata downloaded again. Nothing.

I had the database repaired. Nothing

I had GitHub fix the database via a BAT file. Nothing.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Plex on the same server. Nothing.

Then I tried installing a completely new instance of the server on a different machine and clicked on the same actress:

https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/provider/tv.plex.provider.discover/details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fpeople%2F5d7768254de0ee001fcc8146

Notice the difference in the two URLs - /desktop/#!/media/ vs /desktop/#!/provider/. The new server will show me everything about it. I’d need it on the old one too, but I can’t figure out where to change it.

I don’t want to delete my old database because it has over 60,000 family photos in it and it cost me a lot of time to sort through them. :frowning:

I would be grateful for any ideas. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. If I understood correctly, I have turned off “Include adult content” is enabled for the library. And I have updated all the metadata. Now it’s scanning, I’ll see the result in a few hours.

I thought of another possibility. I made a new library on that server, put two series in it. I didn’t edit anything. I had the metadata downloaded. Unfortunately, when I click on the actors, it still gives me the link /desktop/#!/media/

Are you using the hosted web app? You definitely should.

Did you have issues with DNS rebinding protection in your network?
If so, even if you solved them somehow by allowing “unsecure connections”, they might still have an influence on the Discover credits feature. The only “real” solution is to put an exception into the settings of your DNS resolver (usually integrated in your router) to
exempt the domain plex.direct from this protection.

Thank you for your help. It’s working now. It was a chain of events.

  1. “Include adult content” is enabled for the library - turn off
  2. “unsecure connections” - trun off. Some members of a distant family have old LG televisions. :frowning:
