Ad Detection - Permission denied - could not create file

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314

I was so excited when Plex added the ad detection capability for non Live TV & DVR shows and movies. But it seems I couldn’t get it to work.

But while working on an unrelated issue I saw multiple messages from Plex in my syslog. So I finally got back to the ad detection problem and found the following:
I’m seeing this with sudo systemctl status plexmediaserver

It seems that Plex is unable to create a file on the TrueNAS server that hosts all my videos, but it has no trouble reading files on the same server. I’m not sure why this is, but I’m leaning towards the fact that the Plex user that Plex runs under is a nologin users or maybe because the Plex user has no password. I’ve spent several hours going down many rabbit holes and reading many outdated posts on different sites without any luck getting this to work. Some of my assumptions are based on the fact that Channels DVR is able to create all kinds of files in the same TrueNAS directories and is running as administrator (the only user I’ve created on the pc hosting Plex and Channels DVR).
I’m very reluctant to customize Plex to get Ad Detection to work. All I see doing this is future problems.
I’d appreciate any and all help to get this working, otherwise Plex is running fine and providing us with all kinds of enjoyment.
