Unable to watch Video on Demand. Ad buffering lasts as long as the clips of the movie I’m trying to watch. A wasted and unusable feature of Plex. Appears others have complained but the topic gets closed with no resolution. Had 2 movies planned because they looked interesting but been watching 150 seconds of Ads for 10 minutes. No On Demand movies for me. Ridiculous lack of support, Plex.
a few questions
- Are you on a mobile connection
- which app are you using?
- Do have issues with the preroll before main thing starts
- Did all ads buffer, or did it only start on the 4th ad of the second ad pod
- Can you provide logs?
- Yes, mobile. The movie will play fine, but the ads will not. I suspect their quality is set to much higher than the movie(s) I am trying to watch.
- Plex for Android
- Live Trailers and Live Movie/TV will play fine, but the Ads that allow for the free content make it unwatchable on mobile devices.
- The 2nd set of Ads for the movie I was trying to watch showed I had 150 seconds of them to watch. After 10 minutes, I was able to type this question up and then I closed out of the movie and watched my own stuff that also streams, but from my home NAS.
- If you believe that will help and can tell me how, I’d love to be able to help. Honestly, it’s the inability for the Ads to play at a lower quality. Everything else in Plex allows for quality adjustment except for the Ads that look pristine when they actually play. Very disappointing.
Here is info on how to get the logs from android. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/
Thank you
