Add a folder to the library from a second server?

Hello !
Do you know if it is possible to add a second folder to scan to my library that is not on the same server?

I’m about to run out of space on my main server so I’ll probably buy a second one with 8 bays but without a dedicated graphics chip… It will be a basic file server with shared folders.

Is it possible to add a shared folder on the network as a scan folder in my library?

Is this viable? No performance issues? The only server that will transcode will be the main server.

Sorry for my bad english…

Edit: my server is under syno (the second one too I think)

Thanks ! But I don’t know if I made myself understood

I’m not going to transfer the media from the old server to the new one, just the new one would serve as a storage extension to the old one and this by adding a folder to the library.

The question is mainly does Plex can manage a shared folder as a library? (As a library folder)

Ok i understand thanks for your help

No, it’s perfect like this!

I had misunderstood when I first read your answer. But in fact it’s good I understood what you wanted to make me understand

Thanks again! I’m saving the page for when I take the second nas!
