How to add a Folder from my 2nd NAS to a Plex Library that resides on my 1st NAS

My Plex Server runs on my Synology DS1817+ which is running out of storage capacity. I have additional media located on a Synology DS1517+ that I would like to add to my Plex Library. When I choose to add a folder and then “Browse for Media Folder” I am only able to choose a folder from DS1817+ (/var/services/homes/plex). How can I add an additional NAS to my existing Plex Library? In advance, thank you for your help.

You should not be using the plex account on the Synology at all. That is for plex usage only.

Using your account,

  1. Make a share where you wish to use for mounts
  2. Make a directory in that share
  3. FileStation: Mount the remote share at the directory.
  4. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Give user Plex permission to read that share.
  5. Add the local Share/Directory to Plex.

Just to add there are some more detailed instructions in Q23 in Trumpy’s Synology FAQ’s

Thank you so much! I was able to follow the steps in trumpy81’s Synology FAQ’s Question 23 to successfully add the media located on my second NAS to my Plex Library.

Thank you. I had success using the guidance provided in the Synology FAQ’s provided by trumpy81.
