I use a WD NAS device with Plex, perhaps it is not a static IP or some other reasons, when I turn it off or simply restart it, all my library will be gone, and I had to scan all over again. Or the worst, if it is broken, then everything is gone. I tried to save everything from my local Plex server, but it does not contain NAS Plex server somehow…
Scanning is alright, it just takes some time, but the “tag” work is really time consuming.
For example, I would have collection of movies that are sequels, like the Bourne series or Ice Age series, and there are over a hundred collections.
Also, some movies that might not be sequels but they are related, such as Wonder Woman and Batman vs Superman, they are both from the same DC Universe series. So, I would tag them both with “DC Universe”, and the same goes to the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” series. And both of them I also tag each film with “Superhero”, along with other films with superhuman character such as Hancock or My Super Ex-girlfriend. As a result, I can easily watch all the movies with the same “specific” genre.
I also made my own tags with other types of films, such as “Vengeance” and many others of my own ideal preferences.
But, all these hard works may be gone in an instant.
What I am suggesting is, would it be possible to export all my “editing” work in a CSV spreadsheet, so I could save it and perhaps import it later when necessary? Saving all the hard work that is caused by hardware or software incompatibility…
Or, at least the collection of sequel movies are automatically detected.
