I am trying to add HDhomerun to Plex. I have the latest Plex v 4.145.1 that I just got from your web site. The picture on your support article show a wrench, crossed with a screw driver, icon to get to settings. On my pc the icon is only a wrench. When I click on the wrench, the listing on the left is not at all like the one on your support site. There is no Live TV & DVR listed in the settings. I am subscribing to Plex Pass. There is an old youtube video that show how to setup the Hdhomerun, It shows a version 4.44.2 for Plex. That’s a newer version than the one I am getting from your web site.
Those are versions of the web app ( essentially the interface) what version of Plex Media Server do you have installed. It sounds like maybe you have not claimed server yet. Can you take a screenshot of the settings you see.
I just downloaded the media server yesterday, so I would assume it’s the latest version. I installed it and it is running. The screen shot is the Plex windows app/settings which I also downloaded yesterday.
That is not showing yours server settings. So likely the server either isn’t claimed or is claimed by another account. ( I don’t see it in task tray but possibly hidden or just not running)
What you have there is “Plex for Windows”, a Plex client app.
Verify that you have downloaded and installed “Plex Media Server”.
When Plex Media Server is running, it will be represented by a Plex icon in your task tray.
Thanks. I had Plex Media Server running, but did not sign in with it. I did not realize that there was an icon in the task tray. It was in the overflow area accessed by clicking the ^. I think I have everything working now. Thanks to all for the help.
