I have a pi running my Plex server with an external HDD connected.

Your only real option with PMS on your Pi is to export your iTunes media to your external HDD and create a new Music Library in PMS.

There are many threads asking a similar question regarding the iTunes import “available” in PMS. The answer is always the same: PMS supports some kind of one-time iTunes Library import on Mac and Windows, but not on Linux. Please read e.g.:

Which way to do Itunes Integration

I am running Plex on a Synology DS918+ NAS. I have noticed that there is a Synology App for running Itunes Server. I also notice that Plex has a radio button under settings/plugins - “enable itunes plugin” So, I see a couple of ways of doing this - I still want to have access to everything via Plex, but also want music and video retrievable via itunes. Of course, all of this is so that I can then use my Series of Amazon Alexas around the house to play music out of the Itunes Library Option …

All I did was copy my music library in my iTunes folder in my computer to a usb drive. Then copied it over to my server in to the music folder of the PMS. Did a library scan it was all there.
My server is a Raspberry Pi 3 B+
All the files are on the MicroSD card.
