Add music from tidal messes up frequently

I’ve had several albums that I added into plex from tidal where the (apparently) plex changes the album metadata because it mismatches the album. I’ve been able to overcome this by simply unpatching the album and it then reverts to the correct info.

However, today, the I added in some albums by Cris Williamson and then instead all keep chasing to a completely different album. I add the album Harbor Street from tidal and ale does its match thing and it changes to Ashes. However, unpatching it does not revert to the correct metadata. It actually is the correct album but not the metadata is totally wrong. This also happens with other albums of hers that seem to all end up matching with The Changer and the Changed.

This makes the tidal integration essentially useless in a lot of cases. And even when it works you have to keep your eye on it like a hawk to make sure it isn’t going to mismatch.

Why is it even matching? One thinks that Tidal would be sending over perfectly good metadata and there would be no reason for Plex to match things.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work right?

I think I must have been imagining my “unmatch to fix the metadata” solution because it’s not working for me at all now (if it ever did). This is also happens with several Heather Dale albums also.

Plex, please respond. What’s the point of being able to add music from Tidal to our libraries if Plex is then going to mismatch the album and screw things up?
