Add New Librarys on Plex server for MAC

I recently had Plex media server set up on a MAC MINI and accessing movies from an external hard drive.
My MAC MINI died so I installed Plex media server on my Macbook Pro and when i log into my account I cant find where to re-create my library’s. Can someone please help?

Did you actually install the Plex Media Server on your Mac? The version you’re referring to implies you installed the „Plex for Mac“ app… which is only a player/client.

After installing and running the Plex Media Server, make sure to access the local/bundled version of the Plex Web app in order to complete the setup (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re using a browser on the same Mac)… there you can most importantly link the new server to your account but also use the guided „wizard“ to create your first libraries.

After your server is set up you can always add more libraries…

  • from the server entry in the main navigation (under „More“)
  • from Settings > [Server Name] > Manage > Libraries
