sounds like a simple question but I can’t find an option to get an Played/Unplayed status for my audiobook section.
Is there such an option available?

Played/Unplayed status only exists in movie/TV/video libraries.

No way that I know of. About the only thing Plex has done to accommodate audiobooks is the setting to remember the track progress. Even with that, Plex really isn’t a practical solution for books. There is a popular request in the Feature Suggestions forum with a lot of votes, though. You may want to add yours. Sort by votes and it will be easy to find.

I left my feedback.
I found that using a playlist for my audio books (I have a separate music library just for them) helps start back where I left off, providing that I don’t have a lot of chapter files (I use mp3 joiner to make it anywhere from 4 files to 10 files max). Might help while we wait, hope and pray that Plex will make audio book support an actual thing.
