The new movie scanner supports a schema like this for movie files (e.g. movie name (year) (imdb:tt12345678).ext) — currently in beta.
Plex is working on an updated version of the it main tv show agent as well (mentioned during the movie agent preview phase)… so probably worth to raise this when there’s a preview for the future tv show agent
Is this documented anywhere? (maybe not, as it is in beta?)
I will try this out, if a movie is not getting automatically matched, but mostly this happens for 1 in 100 movies for me
As for the tv shows, when the tv shows contains : or other similar characters (which is not allowed by file system), happens more often that I have to match it up manually
I even don’t try to manually match it with the correct name (containing the missing characters) - I do directly enter the “thetvdb” id, as this is much faster
I would really appreciate if the tv shows could support this also
If the name contains characters not supported by your filesystem it seems to be best to just drop them (instead of replacing them with other characters)
