Apologies if this suggestion already exists, I searched but could not find it.
I would love if there is a way we could add a movie to a collection from the client side instead of the server side. I mean, I can delete a movie, add subtitles, etc from the client side so this should be doable.
Sometimes when browsing movies on a client, I think to myself “I should add that to x collection” so it would be great if I could just do it straight away rather than having to get my laptop, etc and sign into the server to do so.
Maybe this could be restricted to the server admin, if your Plex server is shared with other users. Or when setting restrictions for other users this could be one of the options - allow to add to/modify collections? But primarily it would be for the admin user.
I only have that feeling about 100 times a day. I don’t use Plexweb(s) to view content so a great place to do that would be in the device app I’m using.
I would vote for this, but I’m saving my last vote for World Peace or the end of Hunger.
I mainly use a Fire TV 4k, Xbox One, and, less frequently, AppleTV. But I think this should be implemented with every client.
I initially set up a lot of collections, but I have my whole Plex setup pretty automated when it comes to adding new media, so I rarely go into my server settings. Would be lovely while browsing on any client that I could just “click”>add to collection. To be honest I would actually probably do this over using the normal method on Plex server by clicking on edit, then typing in the tag. It seems rather cumbersome to me.
I find it crazy that we can’t add anything to a collection from the mobile app. Yes, we can load up the web app in a mobile browser but that’s presented in desktop form and isn’t that convenient. It should be as easy as clicking a tab, opening the menu, and clicking “add to collection.” Am I wrong?
