Currently Plex Roku app has no unicode support, even though the web interface Plex Media Server and Plex iOS app do support unicode. All the unicode characters in the title and summary of a video item will be missing as blank in Roku app.
Please add this unicode support. This is 2025 and it is very weird that some apps do not support unicode.

Was just chatting to the Roku team about this and unfortunately it’s a limitation on the Roku itself.
The default font that Roku provides does not support CJK characters at all. In order to get this working on Roku custom fonts need to be loaded but due to memory/storage restrictions on Roku this is extremely challenging.
For now I think everyone is hoping that Roku will address this at some point.
