Do you mean for subtitles or something? AFAIK the Roku app has never supported CJK characters.

no, not subtitle, my movie library has lots of chinese and korean movies, the movie title used to show up properly for years before this update from the roku tv stick i purchased few months ago, the menu used to be on the left side, but now after the new update, we are forced to use this menu from top middle screen, all of the movie title names that are chinese or korean suddenly show up as blanks, since some movie are part english, only the english part shows up and not the chinese characters. And there is no way for me to change any setting to use the previous version or language. This is going to be a big issue for users like me if there is no fix for it, please advice, thank you!

I’m not sure what to tell you. I confirmed with devs ( that are the same who have made every Roku app we ever had) that it has never supported CJK characters.

Here is a post from 2021 of users asking for it to support it long before the interface change last year. Please add support for CJK characters in Plex!

the devs should not force customers to have to use the new updated version then, there should be better support by them. I am glad you replied to me but I am hoping I can troubleshoot with the dev or someone who experience the same issue.

What BigWheel was saying is that the Roku app has never supported Chinese characters, not the old app or the new one.

The Roku platform makes this very challenging to do as support is not baked in like it is on other platforms.

yes i understand that, but what I am trying to say is does anyone know how the old version actually has no issues until this new update? I am not an expert so I am trying to see if anyone can share their experience and may be give me some advice on fixing the issue if possible. I am just amazed that this kind of issue still happen with a popular app like roku. I do appreciate you guys replying too, thanks!
