Add your media to Plex - Continually Redirecting to download page

Server Version#: 1.25.8.5663-e071c3d62
Player Version#: 4.69.1

Hi All,

I just bought a new PC and installed Plex media server and plex onto Window 11.

In plex it says “Your Media” and when I click on it I am directed to get “Add your media to Plex”. And a link to download Plex Media Server again.

I have signed into my usual plex account. It doesn’t seem to recognise that the server is running.
When Installing the server I didn’t receive any options to add media folders.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Richard

Make sure to finish the setup of your Plex Media Server via the bundled version of Plex Web from within the same subnet. If you’re on the same machine as the PMS, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web. If the PMS is on a different machine inside your subnet, open http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead.

This should bring up a dialog where you can name your server, link it to your account and create your libraries. Once the server is linked to your account, you can also access and manage it from other apps (e.g. the hosted version of Plex Web → https://app.plex.tv/desktop).

Thanks Tom.

The PMS is installed on Windows 11 and I am accessing from the same machine.
When I visit http://127.0.0.1:32400/web I see the following

It never gave me a dialog for adding libraries. When I click on PMS in the notification section of Window it also opens http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html#!/

This was working perfectly on Windows 10 old machine.

Thanks
Richard

did you have a previous installation of Plex on this machine?

I should have added, clicking on “Your Media” takes me to this screen.

Which seems asks me to download, it is a continuous loop.

Thanks
Richard

No - It was a brand new install of Windows 11.

Hi Mate,

I uninstalled, removed all traces of Plex and deleted the registry.

This seems to have worked. I now get a server setup dialog box.

Thanks
Richard
