Who is your ISP if you don’t mind sharing? A few have had issues with external ports and port forwarding in general…Bell in Canada, YouFibre and EE in UK.
Tried to let UPnP just do it. Made it worse as then I couldn’t see the main PMS server on plex webui and still no connection on 2nd server I’m trying to add. So I went back to:
UPnP off
server TOWER reserved port 34200 (reserved on router too)
As for the port forwarding screen shot, it’s on the phone app.
The first server, that is working shows this:

the 2nd one, which I since removed in frustration:

soooo, I had static IP for each server and different ports for each PMS server.
I didn’t notice on the 2nd server, I’m trying to add, it always had a red X where it showed the public and private internet connections. When I turned on UPnP, the first server would get the red x and then the 2nd would work. Thus, I switched it back to UPnP off to get the main server back on. Frustrated, I removed PMS from 2nd server. Right now, to access the media on 2nd server, I mounted the 2nd server to the 1st unraid server and mounted 1st server to 2nd. Then restarted the PMS docker. I can get to the media on the 2nd server but would much rather have it as a 2nd PMS server.
I had found the install link yesterday and followed it to the letter. Ran all the troubleshooting before coming her. Nothing that has been suggested seems to work.
For the server where you reserved port 32401 as the external
port, did you set the internal port as 32400 (always 32400 ) in the eero app? You didn’t mention that in your reply and without a screenshot, not sure.
The one exception to internal being 32400 is if you’re using containers and mapped it differently. But since it’s two different system, assuming that’s not what you did.
The only difference on the 2nd server with the top line is the first entry, the private showed the ip with 32401 which was what I port forwarded.
By all rights, this should’ve showed up and worked. but never could get remote access on this 2nd server without losing remote access to 1st server. That’s why I took it off but still want to give it a go
You need to map the external as 32401 to the internal port of 32400 and the ip of the server that you set the external port as 32401. Eero lets you define different internal/external ports, as shown in the screenshot.
Your first server works because 32400 is the same for internal and external.
Private (internal) shows 32400, public (external) shows 32401
There I caused some confusion here. I did exactly what you said. And I don’t know what eero you are using but my version only lets me go into advanced settings and set the port forward on the static ip, which I did, I set it to 34201. Once I did that and manually changed the forward i plex, i got the public port to change and private stayed with 32400. I think I screwed up what I initially put there…sorry about that.
Yes I did. I changed up 2nd server to 32401 and 1st server back to 32400 as the only way I could get 1st server back online was with it set to 32400. I ended up removing plex on 2nd server and just linking it via unraid mount and accesing that way through my 1st server until I can sort it out. It seems if I don’t have UPnP selected on my router, I can access my 1st server but not the 2nd. If I select UPnP, I can access the 2nd server but not the 1st.
Given the confusion and that you are switching ports back and forth and switching rules, I would set new static ips for both servers and create new forwarding rules with new ports for both. Also, restart both servers and your eeros in the process. Also disable UPnP.
Server 1: set the new address reservation in the eero app and then set the port as 35000 in plex and create the rule for 35000 > 32400
Server 2: set the new address reservation in the eero app and then set the port as 45000 in plex and create the rule for 45000 > 32400

funny you should mention that. I put plex back onto my 2nd server and have tried 5 different ports to try some separation. Number 5, setting up a forward to port 32420 seemed to finally do it. Guess the router needed more port separation to make it work. Odd, but I’ll take it.

geeez…I spoke too soon. I lost it. To get both I had to select UPnP. But the 2nd server would lose remote connection status if I went back to the 1st server to check it;s status Went to my plex app on phone and pulled it up. My main server shows as remote connection. The 2nd showed as relay connection. Initially, I could access media, but then I checked back and remote connection was lost on server status. And while still showing relay connection, couldn’t access anything!
Turned off UPnP, have connection to 1st server but 2nd server won’t connect remotely at all.
