Hello~ So I have Plex and pay for the sharing to multiple devices. I have three servers that share with me. I just want to add a hard drive on my Mac with my own content that I can access on my TV Plex Firestick app iPad and phone. I have searched and searched and cannot see where the add library option is? I remember adding my Music before as well n=but can no longer access it and can’t see where to add it back in. That could be due to my creating an account after I did it but Im not sure. Can anyone assist me? Thanks in advance!!
Do you have your own Plex Media Server? You can only add libraries to your own server.
I’ve read that one a few times. I get stuck at step 2 as there’s no way to check that.
I have the Plex Server app running on my iMac. Do I need something else?

I am trying to access the server by clicking on preferences via the icon on my task bar, As of this moment its just spinning after I update my router Ill check that spot more carefully. Thank you Ill be back

For whatever reason I can’t seem to even access my own library. Maybe its because I have the 3 servers shared with me from others? I would think the home button would take me there but it does nothing.
if that is all you see then there is no servers at all listed there. That is just settings for the web player and your account. Server settings (whether yours or someone elses) would be below that on the left settings side bar like in beckfield’s image
Are you using Safari by chance? I have heard of issues before where it would not let a user scroll the side bar for some reason. Can you try Chrome

That shouldn’t interfere with seeing your own server. That just means the dropdown that I highlighted should have 4 entries, the 3 shared servers and your own.
Ok I tried it with Chrome and clicked on settings. For whatever reason it never fully loaded the page on multiple attempts I just clicked settings to see. Here is that screen shot.

When I said sharing I guess I meant streaming as I have the $5/mo plan Plex offers.
Yeah you would think right? But it doesn’t…Why is this os hard I swear I am not an idiot.
Pretty sure he means he streams to iOS/Android devices.
Are you certain that the Plex Media Server is running? The Plex Web app that you’re looking at is not the server. It only manages the server. The server itself has no UI. Do you see “Plex Media Server” in the Activity Monitor?

That’s not true… I have a seedbox, and I’ve added several libraries. It really depends on the situation.
But you are the Admin of your Plex server on the seedbox, aren’t you?
That’s what he meant. You can only add libraries to a Plex server that you administer.

No I’m not certain at all. I can’t believe this is so complicated.
