Adding a Movie with Special Characters

Hey all,

 

I've recently started using Plex to organize and play movies in combination with Chromecast, and I love the ease-of-use. It's my first time really looking into growing my digital media collection.

 

However, I run into a problem when it comes to the naming and organization conventions for movies. I am trying to store Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring on my media server. While I can upload it, Windows does not allow me to save any folder with the ':' character. Because the name is different, Plex does not automatically pull metadata for this movie (or any similar trilogy).

 

Is there a way around this issue?

The agents in Plex will figure out what the movie is without the colon. and if the metadata is gotten from a source with the colon it will be represented in the database.

there is something else not right if it cant find that file, like file permsissions or something

Name it like this Lord of the Rings- Fellowship of the Ring - 2001
