Hello ppl, I’m very new to the world of plex servers, so please bare with me. This is more than one problem… so here goes:
I had my Amazon tv plex app signed in to a paid private server by giving them the 4 digit pin… no problems at all.
I setup my own server, which my bro can connect to remotely no problem…
My own amazon plex tv box DOES NOT see my “own” server?
Some how I signed out of my paid server account, and then the plex gave me another 4 digit pin, then it paired that with my plex account and I can now see my server. But if my paid sub wants the 4 digit pin to reconnect me, i’ll lose my own server. Unless I can add my server to the list manually??
A plex client
and a Plex server
are two different things.
A client does not get signed into a server, it does get signed into a plex.tv account.
And it sees all servers, which happen to be signed into the same plex.tv account.
Which account your server is signed into, you can tell by going to
Settings - Server - General
whereas the plex account into which the web app is signed into is determined in this menu:
This procedure is easier if you shut down all servers and only start the one up, which you are currently “treating”.
Once all your servers are in the same account, you can easily switch in the Plex clients.
for instance in the web app:
