Adding channels without epg listing

it appears the only way to add a channel on the live tv/dvr if it is included in the epg for your zip code. i have over the air tuners in two cities that have groups of channels primarily from LPTV broadcasters that are either not in the local EPG listings or have outdated listings showing the wrong channel lineup. I can add the channel to the dvr by selecting another local stations listing for that channel but that has the problem that the guide data is completely wrong and the channel descriptor is wrong. if there was some way to add a null guide and station to the dvr with no epg data and a way to edit the channel descriptor it would be greatly appreciated. this would allow me to at least add the stations and not have guide data that was incorrect. the way it is I have 8 channels showing wrong descriptors of what network the channel name is and wrong epg data for the stations in one market. I hate to exclude the channels from my tuner but having completely wrong info for the channels is very frustrating. one market is Harrison Ar 72601. it is missing KXMP-lp 8.1-8.8.

When you initially add and configured your DVR, you can add additional lineups (from a different market, for example):

If the channels you’re missing are present in the EPG data from another nearby market you could add it and select the during configuration.

Unfortunately this cannot be done after-the-fact, only during initial DVR setup. So you’d need to delete the existing DVR and re-add it.

However, there’s no means currently to manually add and configure channels such as you’ve suggested.

^this. and if youre trying to add another lineup from the same market, IT WON’T LET YOU!!!

idk who’s the guy at plex thats incharge of plex dvr but @ChuckPa there’s a lot of basic things that are broken. can we get the guy in here so we can list the issues

ie, unable to add another line up from the same market, not being able to use XMLTV/Gracenote simultaneously, the database bugging out and thinking a lineup is added but its not there when it was previously deleted (clean bundles and optimize database buttons dont seem to affect plex dvr for some weird reason) there’s a WHOLE laundry list,

Just saying “Use an XMLTV file” on all your tuners isnt exactly a solution to this :frowning:
