I’m finding that It’s no longer possible to add Artwork as a Poster for TV Shows where there is no poster assigned during the matching process. IE when I add a program into Plex it searches a database and generally finds the Correct Poster or at least allows me to fix the Match. However when the Match has no artwork assigned it was previously possible to pull a JPEG from the web to be your own poster. This facility is no longer working. Is this a Plex issue or could it be my local setup on a Windows 10 Dell Latitude Laptop
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m not using a URL. I generally download the picture into my downloads folder on the laptop and pull it across from there via the Choose an Image option. Its been working for the last few years but recent months it fails to work and just hangs.
Based on your note I tried several URL’s just now but they don’t work either I still get blank screens. However they don’t hang Plex which is a bonus
The Plex desktop app has currently an issue when trying to use the “Upload” feature for posters and subtitles.
You can use the web app https://app.plex.tv instead.
But I would recommend you to not use the Upload feature at all. Instead, store the poster graphic files beside your video files. Name them according to this article: Local Media Assets - TV Shows | Plex Support
Drag and drop of posters also works for me so I don’t know what the issue could be. I wonder if there is a browser setting that may be blocking that. What browser are you using?
