Adding picture generates high CPU for LONG time

Hello,

Adding a new picture to my library forces Plex to rescan the entire library.
This

  • generates high CPU on my server
  • takes unnecessary long time to show picture in library

To avoid scanning my whole library, I splitted my picture folders in “archive” and “new”.
My “new” folder contains +/- 4000 files in 565 folders (in fact this is a sync of my mobile device wich contains all kind of files)

Problem is: every sync, pictures are uploaded to my server, plex starts scanning, and this takes ages to finish.

running Version 1.14.1.5488 on a WIN10 box with latest updates.

Anybody else experiencing this same problem?
Any resolutions?
With emby running on the same box: no problem. It seems Emby is “smarter” in detecting changes in my library…: picture is almost immediately added, no server (re)scanning needed.

kind regards,
Bart
