It’s been a month since I added my photos library to plex. It’s a pretty decent size (15.7k), but I can NOT get it to stop scanning folders.
Plex is constantly scanning each of the folders. I’ve tried to look at the scanner log, but to be honest, it looks like greek to me and I have no idea what I should be looking for.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Here’s an example of my scanner log if it helps.
5 days later and this library is still updating and scanning. It’s driving me nuts. Is anyone having the same issue?
I have a similar issue. Mine finally stopped scanning (I’ve got a very large photo library and it took a few weeks). But now PLEX is very bogged down and nothing will work. Today I finally got so fed up I just deleted the photo library and everything is working fine. I’m sure it has something to do with maybe my router speed or something. I would love to view my photos through PLEX but not sure the best way to go about doing it. Any assistance or guidance would be much appreciated! Thank you.
I also have a large photo library (almost 20 years of pictures), and Plex definitely choked on it. The UI in all clients was super slow to the point it was unusable. It became more bearable after I told Plex to not show photos on the dashboard anymore, but it was still noticeably slower than ideal. A few days later I also removed the photo library from Plex
I removed my photo library from Plex today… it was STILL updating this library.
