Adding plex.direct to DNS rebinding protection whitelist

I’m using a Verizon Fios Wireless router, and was having the purportedly common issue of DNS rebinding protection blocking my ability to Download to my iPod. Once I disabled rebinding protection, everything went right as rain.

Rather than turn it off, I’m trying to figure out how to add plex.direct to my “Exceptions to DNS Rebind Protection” list in my Verizon router’s menus. It’s asking for an IP/Netmask, and the entry cannot be “plex.direct”, as it’s asking me for a numeric IP address / prefix. I’m sure how one would translate to the other, and I could use some guidance (rather than disabling protection to download, then re-enabling each time.)

Thank you!

Most of the time, Plex.direct is likely going to be the INSIDE network IP address of your server. It’s a strange idea, but it’s how Plex gets HTTPS certificates work with servers YOU own. They tell your clients inside the same network/house as the server that the Plex.direct website content is your server’s IP.

So I think the IP you need is your server.

Edit: Reading some posts, nobody seem to have found this a solution. They all want to disable the rebinding. I feel like the IP of your computer OUGHT to work based on what I know of networking. But I’m not sure. Give it a shot, it wouldn’t hurt?
