Adding TV Show Getting Wrong Metadata

Hello, I’m only a few days into Plex. I’m starting slow with the DVR and a few TV shows. I’ve had a rough start, but this seem par for the course. Hopefully it all works out.

I’ve manually corrected my shows titles to match the shows page on TVDB to make sure they are correct. I’ve set my agents to look at TVDB first. It should be smooth sailing, but I have yet to get the correct show to be reflected.

Here is the human readable path to my first episode of Hogan’s Heroes.
/Volumes/Drobo5N/Media/TV Archive/Hogan’s Heroes/Season 01/Hogan’s Heroes - s01e01 - The Informer.mkv

When I add the show to Plex it thinks each Season is a single season of a different show. The wrong shows art is applied and now Hogan looks like Dragon Ball Z.

I switched to a different show 30 Rock.
/Volumes/Drobo5N/Media/TV Archive/30 Rock/Season 01/30 Rock - s01e01 - Pilot.m4v
Plex via TVDB returns Deadliest Catch.

Is my show folder name malformed? I’ve added the year for each show and scanned metadata again, still I have complete mismatch Plex.

Is there a way to add the TVDB ID to the show add as another way for Plex to connect with the correct show art?

Your folder structure / naming appear to be ok.
Which exact folder have you added to the tv show library in your Plex?

What path have you pointed your TV Library to?

I think in your case it needs to be:

/Volumes/Drobo5N/Media/TV Archive/

Show folders as Libraries = chaos.

I made new root for shows and added it to Plex as a Library. Everything is solid now.
